Injury woes for Waterford
Unbeaten in five league games, Waterford United will be hoping to maintain their good form as they welcome UCD to the RSC tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.
Gareth Cronin is still coping with injuries with five players out or rated doubtful.
Stephen Cooling is still out with an ankle injury and Ray Scully is very doubtful with a knee injury.
David Breen, Kenny Browne and Shane Harte are also doubts, although Patrick Flynn should return after recovering from ankle trouble.
The Blues boss has been heartened by the displays of recent weeks.
"Tuesday’s result was an excellent one for the team," said Cronin.
"It is probably the most difficult trip of the season and to head up to Derry in midweek put tremendous pressure on the players but they all rose to the task and to come away with a point was most satisfying.
"I have been saying it for a few weeks now but the attitude and commitment of the squad is excellent and their efforts are being rewarded on the field."
"We still have a lot of work to do and there is always room for improvement. We must stop conceding silly goals and if we sort that out we can go on and move further up the table."
He added: "This is a tight league and little separates teams. We were very disappointed with our first game against them at Belfield but UCD have proven that they are a good team.
"We will have to be very careful, but I am confident of getting a result at home on Friday."
UCD will travel south trying to put Tuesday's defeat to Bray behind them and return to the form that saw them go ten games unbeaten.
Paul Crowley is still out for the Students, but otherwise boss Pete Mahon has a full squad to choose from.
Brian Shortall and Conor Kenna are expected to start as Mahon will probably stick with the same eleven that lost on Tuesday night.
