Derry City expect a win

Derry City should get a home win tonight as they take on lowly Waterford United at the Brandywell, kick-off 7.45pm.

City are still suffering with injuries as Alan Moore, Gary Beckett, Sean Hargan an Paddy McCourt are still sidelined.

Greg O'Halloran will return for the Candystripes after missing the UCD clash through suspension and Ken Oman may also return to the squad.

The Blues will go into the game as underdogs, however, they are unbeaten in their last four league outings.

But manager Gareth Cronin has to cope with some injury problems ahead of the game.

Stephen Cooling and Patrick Flynn are both definitely out with ankle injuries, while Shane Harte is doubtful as he has a groin strain.

"I was very happy with Friday’s result and the way the players have responded over the past few weeks," said Cronin.

"Their commitment and attitude has been excellent and they have put in a hug effort in training which has been rewarded with results on the field. It is great to see Vinny Sullivan banging in the goals and long may it continue.

"Travelling to Derry in midweek is a big ask for the team which is a part time outfit. We will prepare for the game as best we can and I am hoping that the confidence that is now buzzing through the squad will be enough to help us get something from the game."
