Nugent puts future on hold

Preston striker David Nugent insists he will wait until after the European Under-21 Championships before making a decision on his future.

Preston striker David Nugent insists he will wait until after the European Under-21 Championships before making a decision on his future.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premiership this summer following North End’s failure to win promotion, but is adamant he will not be rushed into a decision.

“Every time I pick up a paper I’m linked with a different club,” he told the Lancashire Evening Post.

“I’m handling it all right because, to be honest, I’ve not had time to think about it.

“I have been playing football since the league season finished and I am going to be playing football all summer as well.

“So I will have to think about it when I get back.”
