Gordon Strachan’s agent will hold talks with the Celtic board in a bid to win an improved contract for the title-winning boss.

Strachan is on a rolling contract, meaning he always has a year left with the Scottish champions.

But, after guiding Celtic to their second consecutive Bank of Scotland Premier League title, he is seeking an improved deal.

He is reportedly on a lesser salary than predecessor Martin O’Neill was when he quit the club two years ago.

Strachan’s representative Athole Still told the Scottish Daily Mail: “I expect to meet Peter Lawwell in the near future with regard to Gordon’s contract.

“I know they will be delighted with his performance since taking over from Martin two years ago and I’m thrilled for him.”
