Citeh grab away win at Fulham
Fulham 1 Manchester City 3
Chris Coleman’s Fulham were jeered by the crowd as they crashed to goals by Joey Barton, DaMarcus Beasley and Darius Vassell which virtually ensured Manchester City’s top-flight survival with a third successive away win.
Fulham, 2-0 down at the interval, gifted City a third with Liam Rosenior’s slip letting in Vassell.
Although Carlos Bocanegra was on the scoresheet again 11 minutes from time with a header from a corner, it was a cruise home for City chief Stuart Pearce, but for the west Londoners the threat of relegation remains very real.
Carlos Bocanegra offered Fulham hope of a late revival when heading in a Davies corner in the 79th minute – the big American’s second goal in two games.
It looked too little too late but Fulham continued to keep City penned in their own half and the visitors made a change with Trevor Sinclair replacing Beasley. In the end they held out comfortably as Fulham fans jeered Coleman off.
