Mourinho waits on Essien

Jose Mourinho is hoping midfielder Michael Essien has recovered from a knee injury to play some part in their Champions League quarter-final return leg against Valencia tomorrow night.

Essien has been out of action since damaging ligaments in the FA Cup quarter-final draw with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have no fresh injury worries following their 1-0 Barclays Premiership win over Spurs on Saturday. Arjen Robben remains sidelined with a knee injury.
