McCann misses Wigan clash

Aston Villa midfielder Gavin McCann will be unavailable to face Paul Jewell’s Wigan tomorrow as he begins a two-game ban for incurring 10 bookings this season.

McCann had been left out of the starting line-up for Saturday’s 2-1 win at Blackburn which eased Villa’s relegation fears when Martin O’Neill gave a rare start to youngster Craig Gardner.
