Everton’s new teenage sensation James Vaughan was “terrified” he would never play again when he was forced out for over a year with a serious knee injury.

The striker has since battled his way back into the first team and scored a super goal in last night’s 4-1 hammering of Fulham that took Everton a step closer to UEFA Cup qualification.
