Roy O'Donovan scored a hat-trick as Cork recorded the biggest ever win in the three-year old Setanta Sports Cup with this rout.

Having beaten Ports 4-0 at Turner's Cross last week, City were merciless at Shamrock Park once Denis Behan shot them in front on 15 minutes.

John O'Flynn added a second three minutes later and the goals just flowed thereafter.

Joe Gamble made it 3-0 just past the half hour before Roy O'Donovan got his first a minute before the break.

O'Donovan scored again on 66 minutes with Behan nabbing his second on 82.

O'Donovan completed his hat-trick three minutes from time.
