Dramatic late goal seals Drogheda win

Eamon Zayed scored a dramatic stoppage time winner as Drogheda won 3-2 for the second week running to move up to second in the table tonight.

Drogheda had the perfect start with the lead goal after just two minutes.

Brian Shelley headed a free kick back across goal and Glen Fitzpatrick scored with a simple tap-in.

Skipper Declan O'Brien doubled Drogheda's lead on 26 minutes, shooting home from Jason Gavin's knockdown.

But Galway responded in first half stoppage time when Stephen O'Flynn finished after skipper Wes Charles flicked on John Lester's free kick.

Drogheda had midfielder Stuart Byrne sent off on 58 minutes with Galway then equalising when Alan Murphy found the net on 77 minutes.

But Zayed struck to win it five minutes into time added on as the same three Drogheda players scored for the second match running.
