Jeffers signs for Ipswich on loan

Ipswich have signed Francis Jeffers on a one-month loan deal from Blackburn.

Ipswich have signed Francis Jeffers on a one-month loan deal from Blackburn.

The 26-year-old striker, capped once for England, has struggled to make an impact at Ewood Park since joining Rovers on a free transfer from Charlton last July, scoring once in 15 appearances.

Jeffers, a former Everton trainee, has been added to the Tractor Boys‘ squad for tomorrow‘s Coca-Cola Championship clash with QPR and should feature at some stage.

Ipswich boss Jim Magilton told www.itfc.co.uk: “It‘s a real coup for us to bring Franny to the club.

“He had Premiership pedigree and has played at the very highest level with England, so it‘s an exciting signing for us.

“He has played for some of the top clubs in the country and has cost over £10million in transfer fees so that tells you something about the player.”
