West Brom have promised to reduce season-ticket prices by 25% for the 2007-08 campaign, even if they are promoted to the Barclays Premiership this term.

The Baggies have followed in the footsteps of clubs like Everton, Blackburn, Sheffield United and Birmingham, who all plan to freeze prices or lower them - by offering the deal, which is available to fans until May 31.

Albion are second in the Coca-Cola Championship, and would be promoted automatically if they remained there until the end of the season.

Albion chairman Jeremy Peace told the club’s official website, www.wba.premiumtv.co.uk: “We have been discussing the issue since the turn of the year, and it has become apparent we need to make season-ticket prices more attractive to our supporters.

“We have lost 30% of season-ticket holders this season following our relegation, and we want as many of those to come back, and others to join us, on a seasonal basis – regardless of which division we are in.”

Season tickets go on sale from March 15, after which they “will be subject to a further review”.

Adult season-tickets will be available from £349 (€515) – a reduction of between 13% and 17% – with junior tickets for the Birmingham Road and Smethwick Ends of The Hawthorns selling from £49 (€70) if bought with an adult ticket.

Under-16 tickets throughout the stadium will cost £99 (€145), while a student rate has been introduced for young adults up to the age of 21.
