Bellamy and Riise start for Reds
Craig Bellamy and John Arne Riise were both named in Liverpool’s starting XI for tonight’s Champions League match against Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
The duo, who were both allegedly involved in last week’s incident in Portugal, will line-up for the Reds in a battle between the last two European champions for a place in the quarter-finals.
Also included in the Liverpool squad was Argentinian Javier Mascherano, who was named on the bench after getting his registration to join the club from FIFA earlier this week.
Jamie Carragher again took his place in defence for his 86th European appearance for Liverpool, moving up to second in the club’s all-time list, three behind Ian Callaghan.
Holders Barcelona were without striker Samuel Eto’o, who was omitted from Frank Rijkaard’s squad for this match.
The Cameroon international has only recently returned to action after four months out with a serious knee injury.
Barca named Javier Saviola as their main striker, with Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi and Deco the men tasked with providing him with support.
