Rovers boss Mark Hughes must also cope without new boy Stephen Warnock following his sending-off against Sheffield United last week, but Andy Todd should be available to return after recovering from illness.

Pedersen’s absence could mean a second full debut for the recently returned David Dunn, while Switzerland international Bruno Berner is also pushing to replace Warnock in the starting line-up.

Team (from): Friedel, Henchoz, Khizanishvili, Emerton, Samba, Todd, Dunn, Bentley, Mokoena, Tugay, Nelsen, Roberts, McCarthy, Nonda, Brown, Berner, Gallagher, Peter.
