Efficient Chelsea ease into fifth round

FT: Chelsea 3 Nottingham Forest 0

Chelsea eased into the fifth round of the FA Cup with a comfortable victory over Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.

First-half goals from Andriy Shevchenko, Didier Drogba and Mikel Jon Obi put the Barclays Premiership side in total command and ended Forest’s hopes of pulling off a giant-killing act.

The Coca-Cola League One side created little to test the champions who should have won by a bigger margin.

In the 75th minute, Forest had Curtis to thank for preventing Chelsea from adding a fourth when he cleared a header from Essien off the line.

The Premiership side continued to surge forward but they failed to add to their tally despite going close on numerous occasions.
