Los Angeles Galaxy are one of 10 clubs who have made a formal offer to David Beckham, it emerged today.

The former England captain’s representatives were today in talks with his club Real Madrid about a possible new two-year deal, but suitors are lining up to try to tempt away the 31-year-old midfielder.

It is understood the Galaxy have already submitted an offer to Beckham, whose current deal with Real runs out at the end of June, as have other major clubs in Britain and Italy.

The future of the world’s most famous footballer’s has been shrouded in doubt, especially after Real coach Fabio Capello this week dropped him from the squad - the first time it has happened to Beckham since he moved from Manchester United in July 2003.

Major League Soccer spokesman Dan Courtmanche confirmed that officials from Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), parent company of LA Galaxy, are in talks with Beckham’s advisers.

Courtemanche said: “AEG, and specifically the Los Angeles Galaxy from MLS, are speaking to his representatives. It’s an ongoing process and clearly if David Beckham decided to sign a contract to play in MLS with Los Angeles Galaxy, we will let people know as soon as that occurs.”
