Ajax winger Ryan Babel has played down speculation he is set to leave the Eredivisie giants after speculation linked him with Arsenal this week.

The Gunners are the latest club to be linked with a move for the 20-year-old Dutch international and although he has not ruled out moving abroad in the future, he insists he is committed to Henk ten Cate’s side.

“I am not occupied with foreign interest,” said Babel.

“I want to focus only on football . When I play good things will come by itself, wherever that may be. I will play at Ajax next season. I have a contract for another one and a half years and as far as I know I will hold on to that.

“Just like every other player I have my dreams. In the past that was playing at Ajax. Later I found AC Milan a nice club. In recent years Arsenal and Barcelona have also impressed me.”

Babel, who can also play in attack, has scored four goals in 14 appearances for Ajax this season.
