Wilson wants League points over cup success

Dunfermline defender Scott Wilson claims he would swap their shock Tennent’s Scottish Cup victory over Rangers for a win in the Bank of Scotland Premier League.

Dunfermline defender Scott Wilson claims he would swap their shock Tennent’s Scottish Cup victory over Rangers for a win in the Bank of Scotland Premier League.

The Fifers hung on for a 3-2 third-round triumph at East End Park after Kris Boyd’s double had given the Gers hope.

The SPL bottom club had not scored first in a game all season but swept into a 3-0 lead early in the second half.

Wilson told BBC Radio Scotland: “I would have swapped that for three points in the league. We are getting all the luck in one half.

“Football is so funny at times. We have struggled to get goals all season and we get three against a team like that.

“I enjoyed the first half. The second was a wee bit backs to the wall stuff.

“We expected that (fightback) from Rangers – that’s when they are at their most dangerous, when they are down.”
