Barry back for Villa

Aston Villa skipper Gareth Barry will return after a one-match suspension for his red card at Charlton for the FA Cup third-round clash at Old Trafford.

But his predecessor as skipper, defender Olof Mellberg, will miss the clash with the Red Devils after a fifth booking of the season at Charlton warranted a one-match ban.

Crystal Palace have given permission for Villa to play on-loan goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly to play in the cup tie, with regular number one Thomas Sorensen is still not fully fit after knee surgery.

Midfielder Craig Gardner (groin) is rated very doubtful.
