Defoe doubtful for Villa clash

Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is a major doubt for the Boxing Day visit of Aston Villa to White Hart Lane.

The England frontman suffered a knee injury during the warm-up before Saturday's 3-1 Barclays Premiership defeat at Newcastle and is unlikely to figure on Tuesday.

Aaron Lennon also missed out at St James' Park, while Robbie Keane (knee) and Jermaine Jenas (ankle) are long-term absentees.
