Lennon offers olive branch to McGeady
Celtic captain Neil Lennon is ready to apologise to Aiden McGeady after their astonishing spat which blighted the Hoops’ 2-1 win over Dunfermline in the Bank of Scotland Premier League on Sunday.
Lennon clashed with McGeady and had to be separated by Celtic substitute Evander Sno after they conceded a late goal to Pars midfielder Stephen Simmons.
Lennon, who also had a row with keeper Artur Boruc immediately after the goal, told Scottish Television’s sports programme Scotsport: “I felt we took our foot off the pedal at 2-0 and, instead of getting a few more goals – getting three or four – we found ourselves conceding.
“Fortunately enough, there wasn’t time for Dunfermline to get another or we could have had a rough ride.
“Artur was unhappy – as goalkeepers usually are – and Aiden and I had an altercation, an exchange off views. Maybe I over-reacted a wee bit but we sorted it out in the dressing room afterwards and that’s the end of it. I wouldn’t go as far as to say I apologised to him.
“I didn’t see him on Monday but, when I see him at training today, I probably will.”
