Ilic target for Bolton

Bolton are close to agreeing a deal to sign Slovenia defender Branko Ilic, according to the player’s agent.

The 23-year-old, who plays for Slovenian league leaders Domzale, has reportedly already undergone a medical with the Barclays Premiership club.

“Bolton are very interested in Branko,” agent Sam Stapleton told eurosport.com.

“He was with them last week for a few days, where he performed extremely well in his tests, and he is back with them now to have a final check on a few things.

“A prospective fee has already been talked about and everything is set up for this to push on.”

Ilic can play as a central defender or at right-back.

Stapleton added: “Everything should be wrapped up at the end of the week or the beginning of next.”

Bolton refused to comment on the reports.
