Middlesbrough defender Abel Xavier is included in the squad for the first time since completing his year-long drugs ban for tomorrow’s Barclays Premiership clash with West Ham.

The 33-year-old former Portuguese international, who signed a short-term contract earlier this week, is in contention with Gareth Southgate’s defensive resources stretched by injury.
