Clubs back Stevens approach

Lord Stevens has been given the green light by Premier League chairmen to press ahead with his bungs inquiry without naming names.

Stevens is probing 39 transfers at eight unnamed Premier League clubs and it has been suggested that some chairmen believe those clubs not under investigation should be allowed to state they are in the clear.
