Leeds defender Sean Gregan has joined League One club Oldham on loan.

The 32-year-old will remain at Boundary Park until January 1 with a view to a permanent transfer and has been cleared to play in the Latics’ FA Cup clash at Kettering on Saturday.

Gregan arrived at Elland Road in September 2004 when former Leeds manager Kevin Blackwell paid West Brom £500,000 (€746,000).

New Leeds manager Dennis Wise had made it clear Gregan, converted to a centre-half from a midfielder under Blackwell, did not figure in his plans.
