Tonge misses out

Midfielder Michael Tonge will miss Sheffield United’s trip to Newcastle tomorrow after being ruled out for at least a month with an ankle injury.

Tonge was forced off in the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Bramall Lane last week and Nick Montgomery, his replacement that day, is likely to come into central midfield at St James’ Park.

Defender Leigh Bromby (hamstring) was also injured against the champions and Rob Kozluk and Derek Geary will contest the right-back position.

Forwards Danny Webber and Colin Kazim-Edwards have both been ill this week but will travel to the north east, however, striker Ade Akinbiyi’s hamstring injury keeps him at home.
