Derry eased into the final of the FAI Carlsberg Cup against St. Patrick's Athletic with this facile win over Sligo on a night of Halloween celebrations on Foyleside.

Once Paddy McCourt's audacious half volley form Gareth McGlynn's cross on 33 minutes broke Sligo's resolve, Derry never looked back.

Man of the match Mark Farren shot home a penalty for Derry's second goal on 40 minutes after McGlynn had been taken down by Chris Turner.

The brilliant Farren then set up Ciaran Martyn to drill home from the edge of the area two minutes before half time to end the match as a contest.

Farren then added a sublime fourth goal two minutes into the second, curling home off the far post.

Martyn also got his second of the night two minutes into stoppage time, sidefooting past Richard Brush who had parried McCourt's initial shot.
