The Portugal winger, who has been suffering from flu, replaced Darren Fletcher in the only change to the side which beat Liverpool last week.

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce made one enforced change to the side which defeated Blackburn in their last league fixture.

Stelios Giannakopoulos came in for the suspended skipper Kevin Nolan while veteran midfielder Gary Speed took the armband in his 493rd Premiership match.
