The Football Association will launch a strong defence of England fans after being landed with a UEFA charge over incidents prior to the Euro 2008 qualifier in Croatia earlier this month.

The Football Association will launch a strong defence of England fans after being landed with a UEFA charge over incidents prior to the Euro 2008 qualifier in Croatia earlier this month.

FA officials have already indicated they are to request a personal hearing when the case is heard on November 9, believing the charge is not justified given the bizarre sequence of events outside the Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb.
