Bournemouth chairman Abdul Jaffer has revealed former England striker Les Ferdinand has pulled out of the race to become manager of the League One club.

Ferdinand, 39, had been in informal talks with the Cherries over the vacancy after Sean O‘Driscoll left Dean Court last month to take over at Doncaster.

Jaffer said: “The club and Les have had informal discussions and Les has decided at this time he does not wish to take this any further.”
