Wigan striker Svetoslav Todorov has been forced to pull out of the Bulgaria squad for the forthcoming Euro 2008 qualifiers against Holland and Luxembourg through injury.

Todorov, who missed a penalty in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Blackburn, is struggling with a muscle strain and has returned to Wigan for treatment.

Andrew Webster’s latest run-out in the reserves, meanwhile, ended in disappointment last night when the defender scored an own goal in a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Webster, who endured a protracted transfer from Hearts over the summer due to complicated UEFA laws that freed him early from his contract at Tynecastle, conceded the third at the Regional Athletics Arena.

Webster has still to make his senior debut for the Latics as he is behind in his fitness following the transfer saga, not helped by a couple of niggly injuries.
