Georgios Samaras came closest to relieving the pressure on beleaguered Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce in the clash with West Ham at Eastlands.

Samaras was inches wide with one effort, then left Roy Carroll scrambling across his goal just before half-time with a cross-shot from the touchline.
