Irish international Shay Given will miss the upcoming Euro 2008 qualifiers against Cyprus and the Czech Republic after undergoing stomach surgery.

The 30-year-old Newcastle goalkeeper is expected to be out of action for around six weeks as a result of the operation on the injury he picked up against West Ham yesterday.
