Cork drop points in goalless draw
Cork City 0 St. Patrick’s Athletic 0
Cork City dropped two valuable points in their quest to retain their eircom League title as struggling St. Patrick’s held them scoreless at Turner’s Cross.
With boss Damien Richardson serving the last game of a four-match dugout ban, Cork dominated for long spells, but could find no way past a dogged St. Pat's determined to redeem their home defeat to bottom of the table Waterford on Friday night.
Roy O’Donovan shot against a post on 36 minutes before St. Pat's’ goalkeeper Barry Ryan made a superb save from midfielder Colin O’Brien in stoppage time.
O’Donovan then almost snatched a win at the death, but, having gone round Ryan, his shot from a tight angle trickled past the far post.
