Frankowski makes loan move

Wolves striker Tomasz Frankowski is to spend the season on loan to Spanish club CD Tenerife.

The Polish international will join the second division side if he passes a medical over the weekend.

Frankowski, who signed for Wolves in January, has played 18 times but failed to score for the Molineux side, making his latest appearance in the midweek Carling Cup defeat at Chesterfield.

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey said: “Tomasz obviously wants to play first-team football, and the manager was happy to see him get an opportunity elsewhere as there was no point in having an expensive international player sitting in the stands.

“If Tenerife win promotion they have the option to buy Tomasz but if they decide not to do that then they will have to pay us a loan fee and he will return to Molineux for the start of season 2007/08.”

Frankowski signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Wolves following his £1.4million transfer from Elche.
