Rooney, Scholes suspended for capital clash
Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes will both miss Manchester United’s trip to London to face Charlton as they start respective three-match bans.
Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping Ryan Giggs recovers from the heavy knock he took in the win over Fulham on Sunday, when skipper Gary Neville only completed 45 minutes.
Gabriel Heinze and Nemanja Vidic, both out with knee injuries, are absent for the Red Devils along with Michael Carrick with ankle problems and Alan Smith, who did return to reserve-team action on Monday night after his double leg break.
