Xavi Simons to miss Tottenham run-in and World Cup as ACL injury needs surgery

Tottenham have confirmed Xavi Simons has ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season and the World Cup with the Netherlands.

Xavi said he was “heartbroken” in a social media post on Sunday night and Spurs have now said the midfielder will undergo surgery after being injured in the 1-0 Premier League win at Wolves.
