Rooney makes peace with Ronaldo

Wayne Rooney admits he was “disappointed” by Manchester United team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo’s actions during the controversial World Cup semi-final between England and Portugal but has forgiven him.

Rooney was sent off for stamping on Ricardo Carvalho as Portugal eventually knocked England out on penalties and Ronaldo’s provocative behaviour caused outrage in the aftermath of the match.
