Madrid announce Ruud conference

Real Madrid are expected to unveil Ruud van Nistelrooy at a press conference later today once they have completed the formalities of a reported £11m (€16m) deal with Manchester United.

The Holland striker is scheduled to have a medical in the Spanish capital this morning prior to signing a three-year contract.

“The player will undergo a medical on Friday morning and will be presented in the evening at 7pm (6pm Irish time) at the Palco de Honor at the Santiago Bernabeu,” said a statement on www.realmadrid.com.
