Ferdinand facing scan

West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand will have a scan today after being forced out of his side’s friendly defeat by IFK Gothenburg with a hamstring problem.

Ferdinand, making his comeback following a hernia operation earlier this summer, was substituted after 25 minutes in Sweden.

The central defender will wait to hear the extent of the damage from specialists today.

Bobby Zamora gave the Hammers the lead before Gothenburg turned the game on its head.
