Dowie engineers Young u-turn

England full-back Luke Young has shelved a transfer request and pledged his future to Charlton after a proposed move to West Ham fell through.

Young, the Charlton captain, had signalled his intention to quit The Valley early last month after failing to agree a new deal with the club.
