Waddock confirmed as Hoops chief
Gary Waddock has been appointed QPR manager on a full-time basis.
Waddock was promoted from his post as assistant manager and placed in temporary charge of the team in February, after former boss Ian Holloway was put on “gardening leave”.
Holloway, however, has now been appointed manager of Plymouth, paving the way for his former number two to be promoted to the top job at Loftus Road.
“I am delighted that QPR have finally been able to officially announce my position as first-team manager,” the 44-year-old told the club’s official website, www.qpr.co.uk.
“I’ve got a great backroom staff and we’ve been planning the coming season all summer.”
He added: “The work ethic and training methods will be subjected to a complete overhaul and we’re looking forward to seeing the results on the pitch.”
