Blackburn are set to sign Gillingham goalkeeper Jason Brown.

The 24-year-old is out of contract at the Priestfield Stadium and is due to have a medical with the Premiership club today.

Rovers chief executive John Williams told BBC Radio Lancashire: “We’re having talks on Monday and the player is set to sign on Tuesday.”

The Wales international, who won his first cap in last month’s friendly against Trinidad and Tobago, would be looking to serve as cover for Brad Friedel.

Brown made 137 appearances since joining the Gills from Charlton in March 2001.
