Rosicky ready to step up recovery

Czech Republic playmaker Tomas Rosicky is scheduled to restart training with the rest of team today.

The new Arsenal midfielder was injured in the friendly against Saudi Arabia on May 26, when he damaged his thigh.

“Tomas had an individual training plan for Sunday and Monday, he was intensively training at home,” said Czech team doctor Petr Krejci. “From Tuesday he will train with the others.”

Rosicky missed both friendlies against Costa Rica and Trinidad & Tobago.

“I need Rosicky especially for the game against USA (on June 12),” said coach Karel Bruckner.

There are also slight fitness concerns about Aston Villa striker Milan Baros, who injured his foot in the game against Trinidad & Tobago and had to be substituted.

“It is a painful injury, the tendon is under the whole sole, so he feels intensive pain when walking, and is unable to step on it fully,” Karel Malis, another member of the Czech medical team, explained.

Baros is still training individually, but should not miss the game against the USA.
