Alves price tag worries agent

Liverpool target Daniel Alves’ agent believes Sevilla are pricing the highly-rated Brazilian out of the transfer market.

Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido has slapped a £12.3m (€17.9m) price tag on the 22-year-old full-back, with Liverpool reportedly willing to pay only £8.2m (€12m) to secure his services.

Alves has also been linked with a move to Spanish and European champions Barcelona, but his agent Jose Rodriguez Baster believes Sevilla have purposely over-priced the talented youngster.

“Del Nido has established a very high price for a right-back but I understand why because the club does not need to sell,” said Rodriguez Baster.

“I do not remember so much ever having been paid for a full-back. (Roman) Abramovich (Chelsea owner) offered €12m for Paulo Ferreira but we all know that Chelsea is in another world,

“He (Alves) has always said that he is happy with the club and the city where he is, but at the same time, like any worker, he is interested in improving.”
