Rosicky injury not serious

Czech Republic boss Karel Bruckner is breathing a sigh of relief after it emerged midfielder Tomas Rosicky’s thigh injury is not serious.

The 25-year-old, who last week completed a move to Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund, picked up the knock during the 2-0 friendly win over Saudi Arabia on Friday.

“The medical examination came out in an excellent way. It is nothing serious,” Karel Bruckner told Sport newspaper.

While Rosicky will sit out Tuesday’s friendly with fellow World Cup qualifiers Costa Rica, giant striker Jan Koller may feature after recently making his comeback from a long-term knee injury.

Captain Tomas Galasek’s own knee injury is only expected to keep him out for a few more days, leaving Vladimir Smicer as Bruckner’s only serious concern.
