Milan chief praying for Sheva to stay

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is praying for Andriy Shevchenko to stay at the club.

Earlier this week, 29-year-old Shevchenko admitted he wanted to leave with Chelsea seen as his most likely destination.

Galliani said before Milan’s match with Roma on Sunday: “I invite Sheva to remain at AC Milan – I pray and hope he remains at Milan.”

Shevchenko, ruled out of the match through injury, was watching the fixture with the club’s hardcore fans in the Curva Sud section of the San Siro.
