Real lukewarm on Henry

Real Madrid sporting director Benito Floro believes the Bernabeu will not be Arsenal captain Thierry Henry’s destination this summer.

Real Madrid sporting director Benito Floro believes the Bernabeu will not be Arsenal captain Thierry Henry’s destination this summer.

Henry has been linked with a move to the Primera Liga, with Barcelona and Real Madrid reportedly interested in acquiring the Frenchman’s services.

The 28-year-old forward turned down a move to Madrid in 1999 to sign for Arsenal after one year at Juventus and the Madrid outfit have not forgotten it.

“When Henry was 25 (in fact he was 21), he didn’t think a move to Real Madrid was the best option,” said Floro to Spanish radio station Punto Radio.

“If he didn’t have the will then, I don’t think he will have it now.”
