Mourinho takes manager award

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been named the Barclays manager of the season after guiding the Blues to their second successive Premiership title.

The Portuguese boss was given the award by the Barclays Award Panel, which includes representatives from football’s governing bodies, the media and fans.

Matt Appleby, from the panel, said: “Chelsea have yet again proved to be the dominant force in the Barclays Premiership this season and much of the credit for this should go to Mourinho, who’s once more proved himself to be one of the most ambitious and tactically astute managers around today.”
