Bruce faces more Blues talks
Steve Bruce’s future as Birmingham manager should become clearer in a fortnight when he will have a second meeting with the club’s board.
Bruce had talks with the board today following last week’s confirmation of their relegation from the Premiership after four years in the top flight.
The former Manchester United centre-back has revealed his determination to stay as Birmingham boss, although he has been linked with a move away from St Andrews.
A statement on the official Birmingham website www.bcfc.com read: “The board met with Steve Bruce this afternoon and had a very good meeting.
“Lots of issues were raised and several matters were highlighted for further attention.”
Co-owner David Sullivan hit out at the club’s players following their relegation from the Premiership, and he is now looking for a way to build a “positive future” along with chairman David Gold and managing director Karren Brady.
The statement added: “The board and Steve will meet again in a couple of week’s time. Mr Sullivan, Mr Gold, Karren Brady and Steve Bruce are all working together to build a positive future for Birmingham City Football Club.”
